Born in Curitiba, Brazil, Willian Nassu currently lives in Savannah, where he is pursuing his M.F.A. in Fibers. Before moving to the US, he received his B.S. in Communication from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná. His passion for media studies and advertising photography led him to Melbourne, Australia, where he studied Marketing while taking pictures of urban life. Down Under he developed an interest in fashion and the differences in people's expressions through clothing. After receiving formal education in Fashion Design and working in the field, Willian moved to Savannah, where his life as an artist is coming full-circle. Through the creation of woven textiles, he speaks about identity through clothing, photography, the power of media, and the cult of celebrity.
